Signedge Asia-Pacific Sdn. Bhd. (SAP) is joint venture between Hexagon Holdings Berhad and Signedge International (Australia) Pte. Ltd. The company was established in 2005 and headed by Mr. Glen Palmer. The company has four staff members, Chong Fu Shin, Ng Twan Huei, Daniel Palmer and San Lin.

SAP’s core business is developing and designing innovative and exciting illuminated signs, display and architectural products. Among SAP’s products include Frame Sign, Multisign, Xsight Sign Panel, Lededge, Retail Lightboxes, Menu Boards, Window Posters, Media Advertising, Edgelit Illuminated Signs, Bespoke LED illumination products, innovative sign design and project management.

SAP mainly supply illuminated product to retail outlets, petrol stations, banks, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, cinemas, casinos and even bridges. SAP’s superior illuminated sign systems give them an advantage over conventional signmakers, while innovative design and cost-effective manufacturing sets them apart from others.

SAP has taken the Edge-lighting and illumination technology, one step further in their pioneering of animation technology. Their latest product, Xsight, brings static signs to life, with the look of a plasma screen, but at a fraction of the cost.

SAP is currently negotiating to incorporate this Xsight technology in a giant landmark Billboard in the centre of KL, which will be the first such billboard in the world to deliver colorful animation. Other recent projects completed include prototype signs for AlfaMart in Indonesia and Shangri-La in Malaysia.

Market competition comes from a number of Chinese companies who have copied SAP’s technology but have yet to achieve the level of quality and sophistication provided by SAP. Without appropriate infrastructure to provide technical, installation and maintenance support, these companies find it difficult to compete with SAP in the upper end of the market, where these products have a premium.

Europe is the target focal point of SAP’s marketing for 2007. SAP believes that the UK Market should be capable of delivering 500,000 pound sterling revenue in the first year and doubling that in the second year. The combination of SAP’s unique technologies and Malaysia’s low manufacturing cost are expected to provide a competitive edge to European distributors, which will be tested by UK Signedge in the coming months.

SAP expects to see a challenging year ahead for 2007.
